Linking objectives and implementation

Most organisations have performance objectives and measures, but they are often disconnected from the process of strategy implementation and review. Linking these two considerations is a challenge that can make the difference between survival and ruin. Luckily, managers need not shoulder this responsibility unaided: in little more than a month, the Strategy and Performance Forum 2012, sponsored by the SPS, will offer insights from leading strategists, including two SPS Fellows and one SPS Trustee.

Llyr Jones, Head of Group Strategy at BAE Systems, and our most recent addition to the SPS Board of Trustees, will take part in a panel discussion on ‘How to transform strategy into action’.

Kim Warren, FStratPS, and Strategic Management Teaching Fellow at the London School of Business, will offer an assessment of balanced scorecard and strategy development – alternative structures to cope with current fast-changing business environments.

Mark Anderson, FStratPS, President of Global Strategy and Business Development at Pearson International, will join a panel discussion on change management and employee engagement: how to maintain a performance-focused culture during times of strategic change.

The whole programme for the 9-10 October 2012 event can be seen at the IBE website.
